It’s Just Not Happening

I call upon Saga. the Norse goddess of “things spoken of’, including storytelling and family histories.  The god Hanuman who recounts the Tale of RamaHuehuecoyotl, the Aztec god of storytelling and singing. Mnemosyne, the Greek goddess of storytelling and memory, her partner Zeus and their nine daughters:

  • Calliope (heroic or epic poetry)
  • Clio (history)
  • Erato (lyric or love poetry)
  • Euterpe (music or flutes)
  • Melpomene (tragedy)
  • Polyhymnia (sacred poetry or mime)
  • Terpsichore (dancing and choral song)
  • Thalia (comedy)
  • Urania (astronomy)

And finally their leader the god Apollo who has music, poetry, and the arts in his keeping.

Will one of you assholes, hurry the fuck up and get me outta here!

Oh dear. That is not good. Hopefully you get your muse back soon.

    Word to ponder:

You can get all hung up, in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on, You’ll be left in a Lurch.
You’ll come down from the Lurch, with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then, that you’ll be in a Slump.

And when you’re in a Slump, you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself, is not easily done.

    NO!, That’s not for you!,
Somehow you’ll escape, all that slump and wait,

You’ll find the bright places, where Boom Bands are playing.
With banner flip-flapping, once more you’ll ride high!

    And will you succeed?
    Yes! You will, indeed!
    (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)

Your mountain is waiting. So…get on your way!

PS you can always try a prayer to Francis de Sales. Patron saint of writer.

Sasha perhaps it is time to call upon the gods of the Maori for your ancestors were great storytellers. I will pray to my people’s pagan Gods on your behalf for while of all the Celts the Irish are the most gifted and notorious for telling tales the Scots are not without our chops.

Wow! Sasha, I will call on the African gods of wonder to throw a few bones and bring your writing mojo back. Be kind to yourself. Just breath and it will come back.

Sasha, only when you have to put in a plea to.Saint Jude, the Patron saint of hopeless causes, will I worry about your ability to get the words flowing again.
As I am a reader, not a writer, I wonder, (tongue in cheek) can a writer not have more than one muse? When one muse is seemingly, on vacation, I think you should be able to have a, ‘go to’ muse for days when writers block strikes.

Sasha, Stand in front of a mirror, lick the mirror several times. Stand back and look, if you can’t see your own eyes back you can have an out of body experience. It’s very enriching for the soul. Sometimes a different point of view realines the mental neurons…. This too wil pass and something better will awaken. Lurve you, L

Sasha perhaps because my youngest son is devoted to mythology particularly Greek, Egyptian, and Norse I actually read your tags for this post. (We will be traveling 4 hours by car in 2 weeks time to attend a book launch event with Rick Riordan who is reinventing Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and starting next year Norse mythology for the modern teenager.) Your tag: “my muse buggered off again and I’m going to hunt that bitch down with a club” is just too funny! I will be definitely be reading the tags carefully henceforth for more of your buried jokes!
